Plain. The gold medal is stamped: "9Crt". The silver medal is stamped: ZILVER 830 or ZILVER.
Some medals are stamped HOLLAND.

Obverse:

Bust of an aged Kruger, left. The engravers initials JCW in a monogram on the left before the legend.
Legend around: S.J.P.KRUGER, STAATSPRESIDENT DER Z.A.REPUBLIEK 1883-1900.

Reverse:

A palm frond bordering the field to the left. Above, in large gothic-styled letters across: VOLKSSTEM.
Below that, across: ANDENKEN / BEGRAFENIS / AN / DE GROTE AFRIKANER / PAUL KRUGER / PRETORIA /
DEC. 1904 (in memory of the funeral of the great Afrikaner Paul Kruger, Pretoria Dec 1904).
The makers name: BEGEER in incuse lettering at the foot.
 

Notes:Sometimes found inside a small cardboard box with: "(Crowned B emblem) / KONINKLIJKE / BEGEER / VOORSCHOTEN)" on the outside of the lid.

Following his death in July 1904, Krugers body remained in Holland for four month before being transported back to South Africa aboard the ship S.S. Batavier IV. He was finally laid to rest next to his wife in the Pretoria Cemetery on 16th December 1904, Dingaans Day. The Pretoria newspaper, De Volksstem (the voice of the people), distributed this medal to commemorate the funeral.
