An EXCELLENT example of Border War, 1980s SADF Patt.83 Nutria Helmet Cover w/ Visor. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with all foliage loops, drawstring & retractable Visor. All velcro fastening present and in working order. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Fading evident - no holes.
This piece was issued, solely to personnel in the Operational Area of SWA/ Angola- with discontinuation of the Visor variant occurring in 1990 , with a plain Cover.
