This Best-seller was written by former Nazi Party member, Gestapo agent and German politician, Walter Korodi - under the pen name of " Hansjürgen Koehler " shortly after his exile from Germany in 1934. Korodi was born in 1902 , in the Siebenbürgen region of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and shortly relocated to Germany where he trained as an Officer Cadet at Lichterfelde Barracks. The German Revolution of 1918 -1919 , saw Korodi enlist in the Paramilitary Freikorps Reinhard and participate in street fighting against Communist agitators in Berlin.
Walter Korodi was an early member of the Stahlhelm organization, and began his political career in the German National Peoples' Party (DNVP). Korodi joined the Nazi Party on 1 May 1933 , with Mitgliedsnummer : 2, 644, 609 and functioned as a Gestapo spy - informing on internal dissidents. An associate of Reichswehr General Kurt von Schleicher , who was assassinated during the 1934 Röhm Purge - Korodi was identified as an intended target during the 'Night of the Long Knives' and sought exile in Switzerland. It was during this period that the nom-de-plume Hansjürgen Koehler was adopted , and the subsequent publication of Anti-Nazi Literature by the author - detailing the inner most workings of the organization.
The ideal addition to any WW2 German Literature collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a well preserved period piece for their assortment.
