This is an early 1930s Voigtländer Bessa folding camera, a beautiful example of German engineering from the golden age of analog photography. It features the highly regarded Skopar 10.5cm f/4.5 lens paired with a Compur shutter both premium components that make this model particularly desirable among collectors and vintage camera enthusiasts. The Bessa produces large 6x9cm negatives using standard 120 roll film and folds down into a sleek, compact form, making it a functional and stylish piece of photographic history.
The camera appears to be in working condition. The shutter fires, the folding bellows open and close smoothly, and there are no cracks or visible damage. The lens is clean and free from any obvious scratches or haze. While the camera has not been film-tested, it presents beautifully and all mechanisms seem to operate as they should. There is some light cosmetic wear, entirely in line with its age and use, which only adds to its vintage charm.
Included is the original leather case, also in good vintage condition. It shows some signs of wear, including the loss of the carry strap and the top leather panel of the lid, but remains structurally sound and still complements the camera nicely. This is a great find for display, collection, or even potential use for those still working with medium format film. A wonderful piece of photographic heritage ready to be appreciated anew.
