Cleaning Tool Drill Bit 0.4mm Size for Extruder:

  • An essential gadget for maintaining the nozzles on your 3D printer is a 0.4mm nozzle cleaning drill. It operates with nozzles that are at least 0.4 mm in diameter and is ideal for difficult blockages.
  • To use it, manually twist the drill bit to clear any blockages after heating your hot end to the same temperature as the clogged filament.

How to use:

  • The nozzle you want to clean should be heated to the recommended printing temperature.
  • As directed by the manufacturer of your printer, unload any existing filament.
  • The heated nozzle should be gently removed from the heat block while it is still at printing temperature.
  • With caution not to enlarge the nozzle hole, carefully insert the drill bit into the nozzle by hand, working from the inside out (following the filament's course).
  • Re-heat the heat block to operating temperature after clearing any obstructions, then refit the nozzle (avoid overtightening).
  • Before printing, level your print bed again.

Remember these usage tips:

  • A 3D printer's nozzle should never be taken out of the machine before it has reached its maximum operational temperature.
  • The drill bit should not be fastened to any power instrument.
  • Because the drill bits are comprised of hardened tungsten alloy, use caution when applying excessive force.
  • To remove built-up plastic, immerse the cooled drill bit in a solvent after usage.
