"Ton Vosloo's memoir provides a detailed account of his distinguished career in South African media and business, highlighting his pivotal role in the transformation of Naspers from a print-centric organization to a globally recognized media conglomerate. His narrative spans fifty-nine years, a period marked by significant political and social shifts in South Africa.

Vosloo's career trajectory began with early experiences in local newspaper sports reporting, progressing to parliamentary correspondence and editorial leadership at Beeld. His 1970 Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University broadened his perspective, contributing to his growing awareness of the inherent instability of the apartheid system.

In 1983, as managing director of Naspers, Vosloo initiated a strategic restructuring of the company. Notably, he collaborated with Koos Bekker and other entities to establish M-Net, South Africa's inaugural pay-television service. His subsequent appointment as chairman in 1992, with Bekker later assuming the position, further solidified Naspers's trajectory.

The memoir underscores Vosloo's leadership as a foundational element of Naspers's sustained commercial success, which continues to this day."
