Originating from the planet SR388, Metroids were first unleashed upon the universe by Space Pirates looking to exploit them as bioweapons. Since that dark day, the belligerent aliens have established themselves as Samus Aran's recurring enemies in the Metroid game series.

Features:

When an amiibo is placed on the GamePad, that character will be brought into the game. Players can either watch the character battle other characters, battle alongside the character, or battle against the character. The more the amiibo is played, the more it levels up, unlocking different moves, equipment, and customisation options. They will also level up faster when pitted against other amiibo fighters.

Wide range of characters:

Amiibo went on sale at the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, with more characters set to be announced in 2015. Characters already announced include Mario, Link, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, and many more!

Connect to a wide range of games:

In addition to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, you'll be able to use amiibo in a number of other games, and how they're used depends on the game. Additional compatible games include Mario Party 10 and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, you can transfer the data from your amiibo so it can appear in the game and fight for you.
