Hardcover published by C. Arthur Pearson, Limited, 1902, no jacket. The blue boards with gilt titling and decoration are heavily rubbed in patches, particularly the front, and centre of the spine. The extremities show some wear too, with bumps to the corners. There is a narrow split to the front paste-downs at the gutter, and a book dealer's label stuck to the inside front board. Both fold-out maps and all photographic plates are present, though the map of the Sobat River has a short tear at the binding, and the second map has a short tape-repair, and a few shorter tears long the folds. The pages are clean and unmarked. "An Account of Surveys and Adventures in the Southern Sudan and British East Africa".
