This is an original copperplate print of the plan of James Island and fort in the Gambia in 1732, and published in 1740. The fort was originally built by the English in 1651 and the island has since been renamed several times. Today it is known as Kunte Kinteh Island. The plan is 24 x 17cm and is in very good condition. The framed size is 36 x 30cm.
