The Autralian Rattlesnake bean is name Rattlesnake for the shelling beans which are distinguised by their variegated marble purple and green shades of the pods, which also curves around the vine like a snake.  The Rattlesnake bean offers sweet snap bean pods when harvested when young and tender, it can also left to dry inside the pod for a dried bean which you use to make meaty textures soups, it has similar tastes to pinto beans, savory and nutty with fruit notes.  The colourful pods grow anything from 18- 30 cm long.  It is hear tolerant and very prolific producer.

Maturing time is between 60-90 days.
