Cape Holly is a stunning medium size tree. It occurs is indigenous throught South Africa. It seldom grows taller than 8 meters. The roots are non-invasive suitable for many gardens, even small gardens. This evergreen tolerates frost really well. This plant is also suitable for Bonsai enthusiastics.
For best results this tree will need to be watered deeply. Once it is fully established, it can withstand drought conditions. Mulch will help to keep the plant growing well. This is a dense wood. Can be used for the making of implements, funiture and a good braai/barbeque.
These trees are either male or female trees. For the berries to grow, you will need to plant out a few for pollination and berry production. The berries are prized by the local bird life.
