Early Collectable 'Muggins' Pottery Face Mug
This good quality, adorable, handmade stoneware pottery mug from the early 1980's,was produced by 'Muggins Pottery' based in Leicestershire, in England. The mug has an awesome shape to it, with an adorable unique face, with his blue and white eyes looking down his nose. This is one of the potteries early pieces, as it is dated and impressed on the base 'SEPT. 1984' and 'Muggins England'. It's a very well-made piece with a nice size and weight to it. The mug stands 11cmhigh, has a base diameter of 12,3cm, top diameter of 9cm, a handle to nose of17,5cm and weighs 525g.
Note: 'Muggins Pottery' don't mass-produce their pottery, and every item and face are unique and handmade, and no piece is the same. They only have two potters 'Dan Moor & Sean Keefe' who make everything by hand, and it is their skills, knowledge and humour that maintain the unique characteristics of their designs.
