This stunning Edwardian chaise longue with beautiful dark red/ purple velvet upholstery is an incredible antique piece that would look spectacular in any home. The frame is solid oak which has matured over the decades into a rich warm colour and the depth of wood shines through. This is complimented most beautifully by the deep colour of beautiful deep red velvet upholstery. The chaise stands on its original castors. It has the classic curved high back with fine scrolled carving and this theme is carried on through to the legs. A chaise was designed to sit against a wall, at the end of a bed or as a room divider as it has a flatter back. This chaise is firm and supportive with no loose joints. The chaise measures a very decent 184cm long x 72cm wide x 76cm high. This chaise would add absolute elegance and class to any room it is in and would be perfect in a living room that needs an extra dash of antique flair. There is some age related wear and tear on the chaise and it would require some TLC to be restored to its former glory. There is some damage to the underside and it is missing a button on top.
