A large example of one of these charming desk - top nib wipes meant to wipe the excess ink from a traditional dip pen.
The cast brass pig would have been filled with firm natural bristle, perfect for absorbing the ink.
A quality solid piece in excellent condition, measuring 11.45cm long x 5cm tall. Dates to ca. 1880.
Condition is great, brass has great patina to it.
