Published in 1971, but still a good read today. The author included a chapter on the history of lighthouses, and also one that explains the technologies used in the construction and illumination of lighthouses. Though the text deals mainly with lighthouses abroad, a diagram of the locations of all the lighthouses on South African shores at the time of publication has been included.
This is a clean, unmarked printing. The binding is tight and solid; the pages lightly and uniformly tanned. The book is very good condition save for light water stains on the bottom of the cover (both front and back). There is no other noticeable water damage on the inside pages or the dust jacket. The dust jacket is in good condition save for a small area of paper loss (top edge, front) and a few small tears (spine edge).
