Product OverviewThe MAX1480CCPI+ is a complete electrically isolated RS485/RS422 data interfacein 28 pin DIP package. It is a complete electrically isolated RS485/ RS422 datacommunications interface solution in a hybrid microcircuit. A single +5V supplyon the logic side powers both sides of the interface. It features reduced slewrate driver that minimizes EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperlyterminated cables allowing error free data transmission at data rates up to250Kbps. The driver is short circuit current limited and protected againstexcessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driveroutputs into a high impedance state. The receiver input has a fail-safe featurethat has a low output if the input is open circuit.
