ORIGINAL 1945 Bi-Lingual (English/Afrikaans) New Year Chocolate Tin ; as issued by the South African Committee for Gifts & Comforts to Troops serving abroad. The Large Tin displays the Effigies of Field-Marshall/ South African Prime Minister Jan Smuts & his wife Isie Smuts , alongside a personal message expressing gratitude to the Servicemen and women. The Distinctive Springbok surmounting the "V" for Victory symbol is displayed prominently.
