Light:
Bright, indirect light is best. While it can tolerate some morning sun, avoid harsh midday rays which may scorch the leaves. It'll also manage in medium light, but its colours are most vivid with a bit of brightness.
💧 Water:
Let the top 23 cm of soil dry out before watering. Peperomias are semi-succulent, so they store some water in their stems and leavesoverwatering can quickly lead to root rot. Water less often in winter.
🌱 Soil:
Use a light, well-draining mix. For optimal drainage and healthy roots, you can use our premixed Aroid Mix, or you can create your own potting mix using Barks Unlimited Potting Soil combined with Perlite.
🌡 Temperature & Humidity:
Thrives in normal indoor temperatures between 1826°C. It enjoys humidity but doesn't demand itgreat for most rooms. Avoid placing it near cold draughts or heaters.
🌿 Fertiliser:
Feed once a month during spring and summer using a balanced organic fertiliser. There's no need to feed in winter when growth slows.
🪴 Repotting:
Peperomia Amigo Marcelo grows slowly and stays compact, so it doesn't need frequent repotting. Every couple of years, refresh the potting mix and go up just one pot size. You can also add Bark Chips to increase drainage and air flow around the roots.
🐛 Pests:
Generally pest-free, but keep an eye out for mealybugs or spider mites. If needed, wipe the leaves and treat with a gentle insecticidal spray.
Maintenance:
Prune leggy stems or faded leaves to keep the plant bushy. Wipe the leaves occasionally to keep them dust-free and let their texture shine.
