Pre WW2 '1931' Military Issue Whistle with Strap

This pre-WW2, 'War Department Issue', white metal & brass whistle comes complete with its original leather stap. It is stamped on the side with the date '1931' with some letters above that I can't decipher '??MACO', possibly for the maker, along with the 'Broad Arrow' in between. It's a good quality whistle with a nice weight, works well and is in great condition. It measures 8,2cm in length, 24cm with strap.
