A WONDERFUL ROBUST TOP QUALITY BUSBY BUFFALO LEATHER EXECUTIVE / LAWYER / DOCTORS BRIEFCASE MADE FROM BUFFALO LEATHER THAT IS RARELY ENCOUNTERED IN THE TWENTY FIRST CENTURY.
 
THIS CASE WAS BOUGHT BY ME IN THE 1990S FOR R1500 FROM BUSBY IN BROOKLYN PRETORIA. THEY TOLD ME THE LEATHER IS GENUINE WILD AFRICAN BUFFALO LEATHER I EVEN WROTE IT DOWN ON THE PAMPHLET SUPPLIED. I USED IT CARRYING STUDY BOOKS AT UNIVERSITY AND LATER ON CARRYING WILDLIFE BOOKS AND CAMERAS ON MY TRAVELS. BRIEFCASE WAS WELL TAKEN CARE OFF.

With lots of packing space (ideally suited for books and files) and internal organisation this bag allows for a lot of documentation to be carried around. It has 5 sturdy brass feet that stand securely when placed on table or ground.
 
The briefcase features an outer front stash pocket with zip compartment and key padlock. It features a laptop sleeve and 3 nice pen loops, wallet and pouch organisation.The latter being for calculators or other stationery needing to be quickly accessed.
 
The 20cm width ensures a lot of packing space in the main cavity. It will take a lot of books and documents. The top folding lid is closed with two briefcase-type latches with 3 dial combinations on them. The combination currently used is 508.

The first Busby retail store was founded in Sandton in 1986 and specialised in leather handbags and luggage. Busby quickly became a Brand synonymous with high-quality leather accessories in South Africa. Some online sources indicate it had almost 80 years experience before in making handbags since 1933 but more info could not be obtained.
A wholesale division was created in 1989, this division continues to represent international and local brands such as GUESS, Nine West, Steve Madden, Delsey, Travelite and Busby Leather. In 2008 Busby was de-listed from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and was acquired by Ethos Private Equity and Sphere Holdings. They continue to drive The House of Busby as the leading retailer and wholesaler of International fashion branded concepts in South Africa.
