An EXCELLENT example of Roman Macedonia: 1st-2nd Century Silver Drachma Coins . These pieces appear to be in a Fair to Poor state of preservation , with details of Graphic Relief appearing visible on obverse and reverse. A high degree of wear has resulted in variable clarity & definition. All Planchets are present - yet display condition issues- commensurate to high heat / fire exposure ( fractures noted- edge wear) Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface.
It appears , that both Drachma Coins - were subject to a fire and high temperature associated with a burning structure ( possible during their time of circulation) - prior to excavation. These pieces would have been issued for circulation during the 1st - 2nd Century ( 0-200AD) in the Roman Province of Macedonia ( Modern-day Greece).
The ideal addition to any Roman Macedonia Imperial Era Silver Coin collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
