Stunning Octagonal Japanese Display Plate

A really striking and sumptuous Japanese display plate. The shape is quite attractive – roughly octagonal with four extreme points. On the inside, against an ochre yellow background, is an ascending bird surrounded by various floral and foliate motifs. The rims are gilded. Unfortunately I am unable to identify the Japanese script mark, but the porcelain is of good quality.   

The plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The gilding is intact except for a bit of wear to the four extreme points. It measures 19.5 cm across at the extreme points and stands 1.7 cm high.
