Rupert Chawner Brooke (3 August 1887 - 23 April 1915) was an English poet known for his idealistic war sonnets written during the First World War, especially The Soldier. He was also known for his boyish good looks. He died from an infected mosquito bite on a hospital ship anchored off the Greek island of Skyros, while awaiting deployment in the Allied invasion of Gallipoli. He was only 27.

First published July 1918 by Sidgwick & Jackson, London. This is the 22nd impression of Mei 1936. Condition: Good for its age. Some stains, foxing and tanning. Ex-library book with dates stamped on inside of back cover. Spine open at title page but no loose leaves. Hardboard cover has some stains. Title on spine illegible.
