The story of the wrecking of the seventeenth-century galleon Sacramento with her cargo of Chinese bronze and iron cannon off the south-eastern coast of South Africa is one of the greatest sea stories of all time. Co-author David Allen discovered the wreck three centuries later and salvaged forty of its guns.
The book appears to have belonged to someone who knew the author, because there is a gift inscription by the author on the half-title, and several photographs and news paper cutting pasted inside the book, across the prelims, as shown in photos.
The copy is clean and tight and in good condition. The dust jacket is also in good condition, with minor scuffing and edge wear.
