Hardcover, assumed first edition published by Chatto & Windus, 1962. The jacket is whole, but is very much chipped along the top edge, and is largely liquid-stained on the reverse. The folds are rubbed and worn, and the spine is sunned. The boards are square, with a small patch of liquid stain on the front bottom edge. A pen dedication appears on the first end paper. There is a small spot on the top edge of the pages, and another small stain on the last two end-papers, but otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked. The autobiographical sequel to the author's "The Flame Trees Of Thika".
