Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I - QV-K,  Squadron Leader Brian Lane, No.19 Squadron, RAF, Fowlmere, September, 1940.

RAF Squadron Leader Brian Lane, Commanding Officer of #19 Squadron, based at Fowlmere in September 1940, was flying this aircraft when he shot down a Messerschmitt Bf 110 near North Weld on September 7th. Two days later the same aircraft shot down another Bf 110 while being flown by Flt. Lt. Peter Lawson and, on September 11, it shot down a Heinkel He-111.

The is a really nice clean Spitfire. In fact Corgi has does this machine in both 1/72 and 1/32. Part of the Legends Series, this model come with a fixed down undercarriage as well as a stand. Orginally conceived as a low cost alternative to the Aviation Archive Series these models are now retailing for the same price in some markets, I suspect, because they are out of production.
