Variegated Alocasia Frydek Care Guide

Light:
A Variegated Alocasia Frydek enjoys bright, indirect light is essential to maintain the variegation. A spot near an east- or west-facing window is ideal. Too little light will dull the variegation, while harsh direct sunlight can burn the leaves.

💧 Water:
Water when the top 34cm of soil has dried out. Alocasias prefer consistently moistbut not soggysoil. Reduce watering slightly in winter when growth slows, but never let the plant completely dry out.

🌡 Temperature & Humidity:
Keep temperatures between 1826°C. This plant thrives in high humidity, ideally above 60%. Use a humidifier or pebble tray, or group it with other plants to maintain moisture in the air. Dry environments can lead to brown edges or leaf drop.

🪴 Soil & Repotting:
For optimal drainage and healthy roots, you can use our premixed Aroid Mix, or you can create your own potting mix using Barks Unlimited Potting Soil combined with Perlite and Bark Chips. Repot only when rootboundthese plants don't mind being slightly snug.

🌱 Fertiliser:
Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced controlled release fertiliser or a gentle organic fertiliser. Avoid overfeedingthis plant is sensitive to fertiliser buildup.

🐛 Pests:
Keep an eye out for spider mites, mealybugs, and aphids, especially in dry environments. Regularly inspect under the leaves and treat infestations promptly with an insecticidal spray.

🧪 Extra Tips:
This plant can go through periods of dormancy in cooler seasons, shedding leaves but bouncing back in spring. It may sulk after repotting or if conditions change suddenlyjust be patient and consistent. Avoid cold drafts or soggy soil, and it will reward you with gorgeous new growth.
