very scarce and rare early SARP riot helmet - not many of these about - in great period condition

Here on auction we have a VERY very scarce and rare early South African Railways Police SARP riot helmet - not many of these about - in complete original great period condition - as found and unmolested.

This example even has the original leather chinstrap intact and somewhat still soft supple leather (not too badly cracked etc.) - these are often missing - as well as the inner padding present and complete - a lovely complete musuem quality example.

These date from late 1970's to early 1980's and were reportedly re-purposed then ex mining helmets (allu type alloy shell) with a hand-painted "S Polisie" (Spoorweg Polisie) in white paint on the front.

One of the more rare and diff to find RSA helemets for the serious collector!
