Born and brought up in the Eastern Cape, by two special parents, she was influenced to develop her talents for dance and music and inherited the love for reading at a very early age.
Her life lessons deepened her spiritual outlook to life, which is expressed in whatever she has achieved. Author of five books, Art of Indian Cookery, Indian Cookery for South Africa, Voyage to Vegetarianism, Traditional Indian Cooking in South Africa and Traditional Indian Cooking. She is a wife and a mother who lives in a village near Cape Town, South Africa. Her parents are of Gujarati, Indian origin who immigrated to South Africa in the early 1900s.
Ramola Parbhoo began her professional culinary career in 1980 when she established the first school of Indian cuisine in South Africa. She was the recipient of an Honorary Grande Diploma from Silwood Kitchen in 1986 and has also owned her own restaurant. Her passion for life and people combined with a flair for vibrant colours and oriental décor marks her individual style. Ramola embraces a multi-cultured and serene lifestyle enriched by her extensive travels, thereby developing new ideas and culinary skills from different peoples of the world. She has been invited to teach and give talks in different countries and her books have been published in other countries as well.
