Product OverviewThe MAX3072EASA+ is a ±15KV ESD protected, fail-safe, hot swap RS485/RS422transceiver in 8 pin NSOIC package. This 3.3V transceiver has one driver and onereceiver. It includes fail-safe circuitry which provides logic high receiveroutput when receiver inputs are open or shorted. The receiver provides logichigh if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled (high impedance). Thedevice includes a hot swap capability to eliminate false transitions on the busduring power-up or hot insertion. The MAX3072E has reduced slew rate driversthat minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cablesallowing error free data transmission up to 250Kbps. This transceivers draw800µA of supply current when unloaded or when fully loaded with the driversdisabled. The MAX3072E has 1/8 unit load receiver input impedance allowing up to256 transceivers on the bus.
