Product OverviewThe MAX487EPA+ is a low power, slew rate limited RS485/RS422 transceiver in 8pin DIP package. It contains one driver and one receiver. This reduced slew ratedriver minimizes EMI and reduces reflections caused by improperly terminatedcables, thus allowing error free data transmission up to 250Kbps. The driver isshort circuit current limited and is protected against excessive powerdissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver outputs into ahigh impedance state.
