Commonly known as: Philodendron Jungle FeverĀ
Botanical name: Philodendron Jungle Fever (Green Form)
The Philodendron Jungle Fever is a spectacular plant with lush, glossy leaves that have a deeply lobed, almost tropical flair. Unlike variegated types, this green form has a rich, uniform colour that really pops against neutral walls or wooden tones. These plants grow into impressive specimens, making them perfect for adding a bold touch of greenery indoors.
🌞 Light: Place your Jungle Fever in bright, indirect light. It will tolerate medium light, but the growth is fuller and more vibrant in a well-lit space. Avoid harsh direct sun which can scorch the leaves.
💧 Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist but never waterlogged. Water when the top layer of soil feels dry to the touch. They prefer consistent moisture but can handle a short dry spell better than sitting in soggy soil.
🌱 Soil: For optimal drainage and healthy roots, use our premixed Aroid Mix, or create your own blend with Barks Unlimited Potting Soil combined with Perlite.
🍃 Fertiliser: Feed every 46 weeks in the growing season with a balanced fertiliser. For best results, use a controlled release fertiliser or supplement with an organic fertiliser.
🌡 Temperature & Humidity: This philodendron loves warm conditions and higher humidity, but it adapts well to standard indoor levels in South Africa.
🪴 Repotting: Over time, Jungle Fever can grow wide and full, so repot into a slightly larger container with fresh mix every 1218 months. When repotting, add Bark Chips to keep the mix airy and give those roots plenty of space.
