These Philodendron Nangaritense are seriously show stoppers! With their fuzzy stems, oversized pillow-like leaves, and lush growth, they're already huge in 19cm pots. A rare and bold collector's plant that's ready to impress.

Pot size 19cm

Commonly known as: Fuzzy Petiole Philodendron
Botanical name: Philodendron Nangaritense

The Philodendron Nangaritense is one of the most sought-after aroids among collectors. What sets it apart is the incredible texture of its petioles covered in soft, fuzzy hair that makes it instantly recognisable. Pair that with its massive, quilted, pillow-like leaves, and you have a plant that looks both tropical and luxurious.

Your plants are already thriving in 19cm pots, meaning they've developed a strong root system and impressive leaf size. Unlike smaller starter plants, these are showpieces from day one.

Philodendron Nangaritense Care Guide

🌞 Light Needs:
Best in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch its delicate leaves, but don't tuck it into a dark corner either.

💧 Watering:
Keep the soil evenly moist, but allow the top 23cm to dry between waterings. The fuzzy petioles love consistent humidity, so misting or a humidifier will encourage lush growth.

🌡 Temperature & Humidity:
Thrives in 1828°C. This is a rainforest native, so it appreciates higher humidity but adapts to normal home conditions.

🌱 Soil & Repotting:
For optimal drainage and healthy roots, use our premixed Aroid Mix or mix Potting Soil with Perlite. Since this philodendron grows along the ground, it does best in longer pots or trough-style planters where it can creep outward. When repotting, add Bark Chips to give roots extra aeration.

🌿 Fertilising:
During the growing season, feed monthly with Controlled Release Fertiliser or boost leaf development with an Organic Fertiliser.

🐛 Pests:
Keep an eye out for spider mites and thrips, which sometimes go for the fuzzy petioles. Treat with an insecticidal spray if needed.
