Product OverviewThe DRV591VFP is a high-efficiency high-current Power Amplifier ideal fordriving a wide variety of thermoelectric cooler elements in systems powered from2.8 to 5.5V. PWM operation and low output stage on-resistance significantlydecrease power dissipation in the amplifier. It is internally protected againstthermal and current overloads. Logic-level fault indicators signal when thejunction temperature has reached approximately 130°C to allow for system-levelshutdown before the amplifiers internal thermal shutdown circuitry activates.The fault indicators also signal when an over-current event has occurred. If theover-current circuitry is tripped, the DRV591 automatically resets. The PWMswitching frequency may be set to 500 or 100kHz depending on systemrequirements.
