Product OverviewThe MAX3468ESA+ is a +5V, fail-safe, profibus RS485/RS422 transceiver in 8 pinNSOIC package. This high speed and half duplex differential bus transceiver isdesigned to meet TIA/EIA-422-B, TIA/EIA-485-A, V.11 and X.27 standards. Itcomplies with profibus specification providing +2.1V minimum output level with54ohm load and 40Mbps data rate. The MAX3468 contains one three statedifferential line driver and one differential input line receiver. The deviceoperates from +5V supply and feature true fail-safe circuitry which provideslogic high receiver output when receiver inputs are open or shorted. Thisenables all receiver outputs on a terminated bus to output logic highs when alltransmitters are disabled. It has 1/4 standard unit load receiver inputimpedance that allows 128 transceivers on the bus. The driver and receiver hasactive-high and active-low enables respectively and can be connected togetherexternally to serve as a direction control.
